The LifeChange mentoring Bible study by Dr. Charles Lawless, Jr., was written especially for restoring juvenile offenders through responsible Christian living.
However, the LifeChange mentoring experience is also being used with male and female adult offenders and ex-offenders, as well as with Christians of all ages in the local church setting.

The idea of inmates mentoring inmates began in the heart of Wayne Beachy as he prayed for more volunteers to mentor the hundreds of inmates at the Indiana State Prison.

The LifeChange Mentoring Bible Study program was introduced into the Taft Youth Development Center, Pikeville, Tennessee in February, 2008. It was the initial pilot program and the first one-on-one mentoring program of its type to be offered in that facility.
